By utilizing EXACTA Desensitizer in common restorative treatments, you will provide patients with a more relaxing procedure and follow-up care. The ingredients in EXACTA Desensitizer utilize nano-technology to ensure that they are capable of penetrating the tubules. Hema acts to help bond the network and act as disinfecting agent. The series of complex salts, resins, Hema and other ingredients then penetrate the tubules where the complex salts build up in order to seal the tubule. Light curing solidifies these componentnetwork or matrix to tightly seal the canal.
For use as a Desensitzing Agent Only - Isolation- Isolate the tooth in your usual manner, use of rubber dam is the recommended.
- Preparation- Clean the tooth with flour of pumice and water prior to preparation.
- Preparation of Unit Dose- Insert the disposable brush into the brush holder. Hold the unit dose between thumb and forefinger and pierce the top foil at about a 90 degree angle to expose the material. Rotate the brush around the inner edge of the unit dose to push the foil back out of the way.
- Application- Apply Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent generously with a brush onto the enamel surfaces for 30 seconds with agitation.
Dry cautiously with oil free air for 15 seconds. Do not desiccate the dentin. Light Cure the entire area with a dental halogen light unit for 20 seconds before application of a second layer of Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent. Apply Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent a second time generously with a brush onto the adhesive surfaces for 30 seconds with agitation. Thoroughly dry the primed areas with oil free air for 15 seconds and cure the second by exposing its entire area to a dental halogen light unit for 20 seconds. Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent will not self-cure. Remove air inhibited layer in usual manner by polishing.
For use as a desensitizing and bonding agent - Isolation- Isolate the tooth in your usual manner, use of rubber dam is the recommended.
- Cavity Preparation- Clean the tooth with flour of pumice and water prior to preparation. Prepare the cavity with minimal tooth reduction. Margins should have a slight (0.5 - 1.0 mm) bevel placed in the enamel to increase the surface area for greater bond strength.
- Pulp Protection- Cavity floor of deep excavations should be covered with a thin layer of hard setting calcium hydroxide material.
- Preparation- Total etching is recommended prior to the application of Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent desensitizer. Apply Etching Gel onto the enamel and dentine surfaces beginning with the enamel bevels and leave the etching gel in place for 20 seconds (according to the manufacturers directions). On primary teeth and teeth high in fluoride, a 60 second etch is recommended. Rinse for 20 seconds with water. Dry it in a water and oil-free air-stream, but do not desiccate. A slightly wet dentine surface is important for the function of Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent. The etched enamel bevel should have a chalky white appearance. It is essential, that etched areas are not contaminated. If contamination occurs, re-etch, rinse with water and dry as above. Avoid etching gel contact with oral soft tissues, eyes and skin. If accidental contact occurs, flush immediately with copious amounts of water. Remember to follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the etching gel.
Apply as in Step 6. Application- Apply Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent generously with a brush onto the enamel and dentin surfaces for 30 seconds with agitation. (Do not rinse off ! If not used immediately, place dispensed mixture in subdued light to prevent premature polymerisation by incident light. Exacta Desensitizing and Bonding Agent will not self-cure.) It is not necessary to use another bonding agent if Exacta Desensitizer and Bonding agent is used and placed in this manner. However if you wish to use another bonding agent simply apply according to the manufacturers directions. Additional etching or use of a self etch bonding agent after application will be contraindicated.
Bonding, Restorative Placement, Cure and Finishing-Refer to manufacturers instructions for placement, curing and finishing of restorative materials.
Notes! Bonds with light cure composites and Resin Reinforced Glass Ionomers When using be sure that the surfaces are wet to allow for proper bonding activity. Be sure to remove air inhibited layer when being used only as a desensitzer. Allow air inhibited layer to remain when using as both a densitizer and bonding agent. Exacta Desensitzing and Bonding Agent can be used to bond composites as well. If using it in this manner addtional use of a bonding agent is not necessary. If you do wish to use another bonding agent on top of the Exacta Desensitizer and Bonding Agent do not etch a second time and do not use a self-etch bonding agent.
A unique blend of ingredients allow you to seal and desensitize the tooth and bond at the same time if sealing a cavity preparation. Available in
light cure only. The Hema acts to help bond the network and act as disinfecting agent. A series of complex salts, resins, Hema and other
ingredients then penetrate the tubules where the complex salts buildup to seal the tubule. They are light cured, solidifying the components in a
resin network or matrix to tightly seal the canal. Ethanol improves the hydrophilicity and helps to evaporate excess water. It can be used as a
desensitizer with indirect restorations, e.g. ceramic, metal and composite inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns and bridges with self or dual curing
composite cements.
Compatible with light cure, dual cure, self cure composites and Resin Reinforced Glass Ionomers
Seals to moist dentin or enamel to virtually eliminate sensitivity and micro-leakage
Combines technologies and chemistries for best results
Unit Dose
- Contains Hema
Ethanol for improved hydrophilicity and evaporation of water
- Will not tan or irritate tissue or gingiva
