Features
- Everyone agrees, Opti-Cide3 spray solution is by far the quickest and most effective of any EPA approved disinfectant for use on all surfaces in the dental office. Now, Opti-Cide 3’s unique formula is available in pre-saturated wipes.
Each canister of Opti-Cide3 wipes contains 100 large (7 x 10 inches )wipes saturated with Opti-Cide3 solution. These new low-lint surface wipes are produced for Opti-Cide3 wipes by Kimberly Clark and are thicker, heavier, larger, and stronger than the standard type wipes and utilize an embossed cloth to help remove soil from surfaces. These heavy duty wipes eliminate strike-through or tearing of the wipes during use. The total surface area of wiping power available in each canister is about 10%-20% more than the standard canister of wipes. Customers have told us the small 6 x 6 sized wipes are just too small and require the use of 3 -4 wipes per use. The large ones are too expensive and wasteful. This size is just right!
Q. As I look at the wipe, the first question that comes to mind is why the blue color? A. As you know Opti-Cide3 is used in many industries including medical and surgical. The blue color is surgical blue that indicates approval for use in operating rooms.
Q. The second thing that is apparent is the size of the 7 x 10 wipe. Why that size? A. Current wipes on the market are usual around 6 x 6 or much larger in the range of 12 x 14 in size. In our surveys we found that the small size was just too small required several wipes to be effective. The converse was also true in that the much larger size of 12 x 14 was much too large and not economical. This is what led us to choose the large 7 x 10 size.. When we showed it to dentists, nurses and others they agreed it was just the right size. Not too big and not to small!
Q. The wipe itself looks as if it is better and stronger. Why? A. We use low lint Kimberly Clark surgical level embossed wipe material. This gives us the ability to hold more of the Opti-Cide3 liquid. Also the embossing adds strength to the wipe and allows our wipe to effectively absorb organic soils such as blood and body fluids and hold them in the wipe much better.
Q. The current wipe that I use tends to lint and tear apart and this is a problem! A. The industrial strength, low-lint cloth we use prevents linting so you don’t leave parts of the cloth behind. The embossing and strength of this stronger material helps prevent wipe strike through or cloth tearing.
Q. Wipes that I use tend to dry out in the container. What can I do? A. The Opti-Cide3 wipe canister has a special lid that allows each wipe to tear off easily. Its deep well keeps the next wipe from exposure to air where it can dry out.
Q. What if I leave the lid open and the liquid evaporates? A. This is a serious problem. With other wipes you cannot just add more liquid to the wipe container. Even though it is the same brand name. The reason is that the expiration date of the liquid you add is different than is the expiration of the liquid that is in the canister. This is true of the products we found except for Opti-Cide3. Since Opti-Cide3 liquid does not have an expiration date, you can add more Opti-Cide3 liquid to the canister without jeopardizing the efficacy of the product and your safety.
Q. I fill the 24 oz spray bottles from a gallon container now so why can’t I do the same the wipes? A. You can, if the expiration dates are identical. The same holds true for the liquids. The expiration dates must match in order to refill a liquid bottle.
Q. Opti-Cide3 liquid takes 3 minutes to work. How about the wipes? A. Opti-Cide3 wipes contain the same Opti-Cide3 liquid.
Q. What surfaces can I use Opti-Cide3 wipes on? A. Unlike the high-alcohol or chlorine wipes, the Opti-Cide3 wipes just like Opti-Cide3 liquid, may be used on all surfaces including plastics, metals ( including aluminum), vinyl, Plexiglas and other surfaces. Q. How are the Opti-Cide3 wipes packed? A. Opti-Cide3 wipes are packed in canisters of 100 large sized individual wipes that are 7 x 10 inches and are packed 6 canisters per case. The small case quantity means it is economical to buy and get the case price and at the same time easily store them.
A direct comparison of Opti-Cide 3 wipes to other wipes in the above example show Opti-Cide3 wipes are less expensive to the user. On a square inch basis the prices can vary anywhere from an 8 to 27% difference in actual cost depending on the size and brand when compared to Opti-Cide3 wipes. The actual bottom line cost is the per square inch cost. Anything else is just “smoke and mirrors”.
