Finishing and Polishing the Provisional - Using either carbide or diamond finishing burs contour the provisional restoration.
- Rinse the provisional with water to remove any loose debris. Dry thoroughly.
- Apply a thin coat of EXACTA Glaze to the provisional with an applicator brush.
- Optional step: Lightly air thin EXACTA Glaze to ensure even coverage.
- Light-cure each surface of the provisional for thirty seconds. Apply additional coats as desired. Note: EXACTA Glaze has been formulated to cure with both halogen and LED curing lights.
- Important Note: When applying Exacta Glaze to bridges, especially those exceeding 3 units, it is critical that each unit is completely cured on all surfaces. To shorten the total curing time, and ensure complete polymerization of Exacta Glaze when glazing bridges exceeding 3 units, it is highly recommended to place the provisional in a light box for 30 seconds - 2 minutes, depending on the light box intensity or instruction.
Caution:EXACTA Glaze contains methacrylates which may cause tissue irritation in patients with or without known methacrylate sensitivity where this is a direct contact with the soft tissue.
Excessive residual monomer has been known to cause mucous membrane irriation, expecially in patients with known methacrylate sensitivity. To minimze any reaction, take care to esnure that the galzed reotration is fully cured on all surfaces. For patients with sever sensitivity, consdier an indirect restoration instead to prevent any exposure to residual monomer.
